In Loving Memory

Eric Virgil Henderson | November 19, 1980 - January 1, 2014

Who was Eric Virgil Henderson? He was many things. A kid at heart, Boy Scout and accomplished Eagle Scout, a real gentleman, skateboarder, carpenter, videographer, brew master, camper, wrestler, musician, snowboarder, surfer, master of disguises, our Papa Georgio and if you ask some, he was just a “nerd that fixes computers.”

Eric was all about family, friends and community.

He was an absolute genius with technology. That stroke of genius led him to become a graduate of VA TECH, College of Business - Information and Technology Systems. Only Eric knew what that means!

On his journey from Kaplan, Louisiana to Franklin, to Blacksburg, to Virginia Beach, to Moyock, NC and now to his resting place in Heaven, Eric touched so many lives here on earth. What made him special is that he always marched to the beat of his own drum. As we continue to keep Eric in our hearts and memories, on a quiet day, if we just listen really hard, we may hear that drum beat. We love you Eric!

Fundraiser for Eric V Henderson Memorial Scholarship

Eric V. Henderson was a phenomenal individual - a gentleman and kindhearted soul. Strangers and friends alike were drawn to him. As an Eagle Scout, Eric both earned and embodied the title. That is how we wish to remember him. It is in his honor, that his sister Angie is running the Richmond Half Marathon the week of his would-be 34th birthday. The goal to raise $5,000 by November 19, 2014 will help the family establish the Eric V. Henderson Memorial Scholarship. The fund will benefit one annual Boy Scout, nominated by the troop for his leadership, character and heart to serve family, friends, and community.
